Ooo! Could I BE more excited? The bootiful Carrie, writer of The Patterned Plate blog (a permanent feature on my blogroll
) has asked me to babysit her blog whilst she’s on her hols. I’m totally thrilled at the gesture and I hope my blog post does her justice. If I could only have one word to describe Carrie’s blog, I’d most definitely use the word “colourful” first. So here are some luscious lemon squares from the Leon books, with all the punchy vibrancy of a sunshine yellow fresh lemon.
Read my full post here and do stop and read through one of the most fabulous blogs I’ve ever read. Perhaps make a batch of these wee sweet treats, pour a pot of tea and settle in as I’m sure you’ll want to stay a long time once you get there
Mwah – thank you Carrie. Enjoy your hols love xxx
That’s a cool idea – I shall check it out
Beautiful. I need to try this recipe. I follow Patterned Plate and agree it is wonderful.
Do try it Connie – it’s wonderful and that comes from someone who normally gags at the sight of anything lemon based on a dessert menu
My husband loves Lemon Meringue Pie and this recipe sounds like it comes from the same stable sans the meringue – shortbread and lemon yum never come across this before so another one to add to the to do list! Welcome back Jo we’ve missed you!
Aw thanks Camilla. I’ve never had a lemon meringue pie but these are soft, tender, sharp, sweet and melting. Bliss! Not to be missed
